Radio & TV Career

Dr. Friedman’s radio career began in 1994 as host of “Healthy Solutions” which aired coast-to-coast on hundreds of FM/AM radio stations across the country. His first celebrity interview was Andy Griffith, who rarely granted interviews. He told Dr. Friedman on the air, “You’ve got some big shoes to fill. The last person I let interview me was Larry King!” While Dr. Friedman didn’t come close to filling the shoes of the King of talk radio, the interview was a massive success! Dr. Friedman and Andy enjoyed a casual and relaxed conversation as if two friends were sitting in the living room sharing a cup of coffee. After being inundated with requests for a copy of the interview, it was made available on cassette tape (this was long before MP3s and podcasts.) Over 45,000 copies were sold! “Healthy Solutions” aired in syndication for 10 years.

While Dr. Friedman has been a guest on many television shows over the span of three decades, it was his appearance on Lifetime Television’s morning show in 2007, that would take his message to a new level! After his interview, the network received such positive feedback, he was invited to be their weekly health expert.

Dr. Friedman lives by the mantra, “Changing lives, just for the health of it!” and millions of viewers tuned in weekly for his cutting-edge, controversial and informative health segments.

While juggling a full-time practice and weekly trips to Miami to film his Lifetime TV segments, Dr. Friedman woke up at 4 am for hair, makeup, wardrobe, lighting, rehearsing, etc. He would spend two hours filming a 20 minute segment which was edited down to 5 minutes. Many people that know Dr. Friedman would tell him, “I love watching you on TV every week, but you are always so serious. In real life you laugh and have such a great sense of humor.” When it comes to TV, time is money and unfortunately, a lot of the fun was edited out.

In 2009, Dr. Friedman returned to radio as host of “To Your Good Health Radio”. This syndicated program offered a live, no holds barred, unedited platform heard by millions of listeners via FM/AM and internet radio. On his first show Dr. Friedman said, “It’s so great to be back on the radio, where I can sit in my studio with messy hair, wearing shorts and a t-shirt and not have to read a teleprompter!”.

“To Your Good Health Radio” went on to change the face of talk radio by incorporating entertainment, shock value, and solutions to everyday health and wellness issues. Each week Dr. Friedman interviews world-renowned doctors, celebrities, sports figures and New York Times bestselling authors who share tips on attaining optimal health. “To Your Good Health Radio” is heard weekly on AM/FM and internet radio platforms including TuneInRadio, StitcherRadio, SlackerRadio, RadioMD, PublicRadioFan, SoundCloud and iHeart Radio. Podcasts are also available on iTunes. Many have gone viral.s
